About MAINFRAME

Here's a minigame-packed hacking misadventure full of IP addresses, green text and proxy servers. Mash the keyboard to bruteforce an admin password, guide the Mydoom worm through a maze without crossing it's own tail, play breakout with walls of ICE to gain access to the database. The minigames themselves are simple enough but the faithfulness to the pop hacker lexicon is mighty. After a successful hack you'll get a score and the chance to run again against a new corp. But fail a subroutine minigame three times and your proxies will evaporate, leaving you vulnerable to traces.

The beta version of the game currently only includes a single-player mode, with each new run making the mini-games harder.

Control

The primary keys that you'll wield as a cyber warrior in MAINFRAME are the spacebar and the directional arrows, your digital swords in the battle for supremacy. These fundamental controls lay the foundation for your hacking journey, allowing you to move through the digital landscape with ease and speed.

As you progress through the levels of hacking, you'll encounter various challenges that require quick thinking and adaptability. Some levels may introduce numeric keys, enhancing the complexity of your control scheme. These numeric keys become your arsenal for cracking intricate codes, unlocking hidden pathways, and achieving feats that go beyond the basic controls.

At the start of each new run, you will have three lives (they are labeled as PROXY stacks). To advance to a new level you need to hack 5 ICEs, each ICE is a mini game that drops randomly. The name of the mini-game that you need to pass will be written at the bottom. In case of three defeats in mini games - you lose and can start over.
